Job Title: Lead Line Cook

Job Overview
The lead line cook executes dishes that follow established recipes and portions to provide a consistent guest experience. The lead line cook oversees kitchen operations and team members as an extension of management and oversees multiple stations in the kitchen. This is a non-exempt hourly position full-time or part-time. Scheduled hours my vary based on demand. Essential Functions
-Properly set up or oversee set up of multiple stations for service.
-Safe food handling procedures including raw meats and seafood.
-Safe handling of sharp cooking utensils.
-Maintain a clean workstation.
-Delegate tasks, provide direction to other team members, oversee other workstations and safe working practices.
-Safely handle heavy cooking equipment, ensure other team members practice safe handling of heavy cooking equipment.
-Maintain a consistent level of detail and ensure the team does as well.
-Break down multiple stations or oversee the breakdown of multiple stations.
-Sanitize cooking equipment as necessary.
-Properly store and label food, ensure team members follow proper food storing procedures.
-Continuously taste and monitor quality.
-Check in with team members and assist in training and developing skills.
-May assist with invoicing and receiving product.
-Be the liaison between the front of the house and the kitchen, communicate menu item counts or out of stock items.

Requirements
-Ability to communicate clearly with management and team members, communicate with kindness with guests and team members.
-Follow all meal and rest break period state requirements.
-Work in a fast-paced environment under high pressure circumstances.
-ServSafe or equivalent safe food handling procedures certification.
-Punctuality.
-Ability to delegate, oversee employees, report to management, ensure employees follow meal and rest periods.
Work and physical environment
This position may require employees to work in small spaces with high temperatures and hot cooking surfaces. This position may require working late hours, weeknights, and weekends as well as holidays. This position may require working under high stress fast-paced circumstances. Employees may be stationary for extended periods of time. May require performing repetitive movements such as cutting and cooking. It may be required to work with hot stoves, ovens, hot deep fryers. Using sharp utensils such as knives, tongs, large forks. Using heavy kitchen equipment such as large convection ovens. It may be necessary to enter cold walk-in coolers or freezers. Working near other employees while cooking and moving hot cooking equipment around. It may be necessary to position self up high, reach low, bend back and knees. Skid and slip resistant footwear and appropriate clothing may be required.
