Big Steps For A Small Business

By putting our heads together, we were able to raise some solid cash for Save the Waves while having a great time selling beer.

There will be no "there", no arrival, or no magic moment when we can sit back and relish in achievement. The truth is, we will likely have unfulfilled goals and never accomplish everything we want. Regardless, it's important to set benchmarks, and when we accomplish small things, it's equally important to celebrate them. So...let's celebrate. The past few weeks might be some of the best in Humble Sea's career.

Spending money on a flight of Humble Sea beers feels rewarding. A few weeks ago, we were fortunate enough to have three beers on tap at Beer 30.

Three Beers to Beer 30
There's no denying Beer 30's prestige. Being one of the best craft beer bars in town, we were ready to pop with excitement when they asked for three of our beers: Allie Blonde, Barrel Aged Playa Grande IPL, and the Tiny Umbrella IPA. Between Beer 30, West End, East End, The Food Lounge, & Picnic Basket, our mini distribution plan is at full capacity.

Ventana Spruce Pale Ale Keg Release Party
An ocean minded business requires ocean minded events. On March 26th, following months of brainstorming with Ventana Surfboards & Supplies, a specialty pale ale brewed with fresh spruce tips was released. With the addition of live music from the Coffis Brothers, pretzels from Twins Kitchen, and the participation of other local vendors, $1,400+ was raised for Save the Waves Coalition. Local support was so strong that by 9:00 pm we sold out of 60+ gallons of Humble Sea beer.

The First First Friday: The Art of Tasting
Partnering with Design by Cosmic, we participated in our first First Friday: The Art of Tasting. On April 1st, starting at 5:00 pm, multiple beer-tasting stations furnished Humble Sea samples: Playa Grande Jalapeño, Tiny Umbrella, Allie, Maritime Medicine, and Crusty Sea Dog were all available. With walls tattooed in Humble Sea art and lines winding throughout Cosmic, the night came to an abrupt halt with the final keg finishing at 7:30 pm. Thank you Cosimic for hosting a great event & Lionfish Supperclub for the tasty treats!

Nexties
Things are not slowing down. Today, we will be pouring an array of styles at Santa Cruz's most esteemed entrepreneurial event of the year, the Nexties, hosted by Event Santa Cruz. Come support us and other local entrepreneurs by purchasing tickets here

These little achievements are significant for our business. From time to time, it's ok to pat ourselves on the back and celebrate the small successes which help us grow in the right direction.
